Wookey Primary School 2009-2010

 H G Wells:

The Man Who Invented Tomorrow

Wookey School celebrated the life and work of H G Wells, the famous science fiction writer, who lived and worked at Wookey School in 1880.

The whole school paid tribute to his writings, such as the War of the Worlds, The Time Machine and The Invisible Man, with readings, songs and dance.

The children also performed "The Story of Tommy", the only children's story that H G Wells had written.

They also sang songs from the musical, "Half a Sixpence", which was based on Wells' novel, Kipps, and provided a lively finale, with the popular number, "Flash! Bang! Wallop!

Everyone had a great time, singing the popular songs, and there were two packed performances for parents and friends.
